Build Speed Focused Strength That Transfers to the Field
Running fast in a straight line is only one part of athletic speed. OFA teaches athletes how to generate explosive strength, accelerate, decelerate, change direction and react efficiently in competitive situations. Each session combines movement instruction with progressive drills that help athletes move with greater control and confidence.

TESTIMONIALS
Kieren - Carleton Ravens
Before I started training with Coach Nate, I was slower, heavier, and wasn’t very confident in my speed. Since training with him, I’ve gotten a lot faster, more explosive, and way more confident in my game. My favourite part about his training is that even in a group, he’ll switch things up on the spot to make sure everyone individually is getting what they need to get better. You can tell he actually enjoys helping his guys improve.
Ancel - St. Peters Knights
I’ve had a great experience. Coach Nate genuinely cares about helping every player improve, no matter their skill level. The practices are competitive, organized, and focused on developing football IQ, technique, and confidence. I’ve become a better player because of the coaching and the atmosphere the team creates. If you’re looking for a place that pushes you to improve while keeping the environment positive and supportive, I’d definitely recommend this team. Thank you, Coach Nate for all the time and effort you put into helping us succeed both on and off the field.
Roy - Holy Trinity Tornadoes
Training with OFA helped me improve my technique, confidence, and understanding of the game. The coaching was supportive and pushed me to work harder every session. I’d definitely recommend it to any player looking to improve.
FAQ
What ages can participate in OFA strength training?
OFA is a community of excellence. We train athletes of all experience levels from the age of 10 to 22. Programs are adjusted based on the athletes. Though the programs are tailored to the athlete's age and experience levels, the younger and less experienced athletes train alongside the older more experienced athletes. This allows for a faster learning progression for the less experienced athletes and provides a feeling of mentorship for the more experienced athletes.
Does my child need football experience?
Absolutely not. Strength training benefits athletes in virtually every sport.
What does a typical session include?
Dynamic warm-up, movement and mechanics instruction, weighted resistance training, explosive plyometric and cooldown.
Where is the training held?
Indoor training is provided at The Goldridge Gym @ 272 Goldridge Dr., Kanata.
What should athletes bring?
Athletes should bring running shoes, athletic wear and water.
How long is each session?
Each session is 1 hour in length.
Can the session packages be used for other OFA programs?
All session packages can be used for any program that OFA provides.
Will this help athletes in sports other than football?
Absolutely. Explosive power and speed training benefits athletes in almost every field and court sport because athletic performance depends on an athlete’s ability to produce force quickly.
Through a combination of weight training, resistance exercises and plyometrics, athletes develop the strength and explosiveness needed to accelerate faster, jump higher, change direction more powerfully and react quickly during competition.
Strength training helps athletes build the foundation to produce more force. Resistance training develops strength through sport-relevant movement patterns, while plyometrics teach the body to apply that force rapidly and explosively. Together, these methods help athletes become stronger, faster and more powerful.
These qualities transfer directly to sports such as football, soccer, basketball, hockey, rugby, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball and tennis. Although every sport requires different technical skills, athletes across nearly all sports benefit from greater strength, acceleration, explosiveness and overall athletic power.
